Larry Page took over as Google’s CEO last year with the company already doing well, Mr Page has already been driving the company forward pushing Google faster into the world of social media, and it’s no surprise that “investor’s business daily” has named him CEO of the year.
The CEO has come in and reorganised the internal management structure, pushed for more sophisticated products, bought a mobile phone company and launched two brand new products aimed at competing with Groupon and Facebook.
Having Boosted revenue by 32% and 33% respectively he is on the way to making Google once again the largest company in the world.
Mr Page officially took over from the last CEO Eric Schmidt in April 2011, there is expected to be another set of streamlining and re-focusing with Larry Page at the helm in 2012.
Page was brought in to support the growth and stop Google falling away as one of the leading tech giants of the world today; of course this will be a massive challenge with Apple currently riding at the top.
Every company needs a shake up from time to time to bring some focus onto the main goals, for Mr Page this is very much based on being the number one in the major tech categories.
Google is increasingly polishing its internet procedures as well as pushing more money into advertising the Google search engine, amazingly this will also come in the form of a Muppet based TV advertising campaign.
