Google plans to cut the fat, Google news from Brands Exposed

Google has major plans this year to roll out more development time into its most importance update whilst binning some of the lesser used features.

Google’s Larry Page has stated his strategy for 2012 is to focus on more useful products and cutting other less used Google features, Apple’s superstar Steve Jobs told Page that Google was too clustered with unused products and should get his focus onto producing 5 good new features.
Mr Page started out using his new power by pushing Google health and Powermeter while slowing down work on Google Labs, the slide social aspect and also dozens of other web services over 2012.
Google’s Vice president of Product management for Google Apps stated while they saw lots of businesses signing up for GCM (Google messaging centre), millions of businesses had entirely moved onto using Google Apps, Google apps is a cloud based software that helps companies stop data losses.
There is of course no surprise that Google is pushing its users to use Google apps and take them away for their major rivals, the tech giant Microsoft.
Also up for the chop is Picnik, a web photo App for editing that Google bought in 2010, This service has announced it will close down no later than
April 19th 2012, The Picnik team will push their service over onto other Google Apps, With Google+ already starting to show signs of using this, it looks like a good year for Google to start simplifying their product suite.
Google also has plans to drop its social graph API which helps aid developers, with rumours that this also may reappear somewhere on Google+.
Another chop for 2012 will be the Travel software maker ITA, this came with the Needlebase platform, Needlebase will be shut down by June 2012 but Google are understood to be possibly planning some use in the future.
Saving the largest until the end! Google is saying bye to the web analytics of urchin, Google bought Urchin in 2005 and made it the base of Google analytics, this is by far the most worrying drop of the year but we are sure it will be replaced.
