MIT and Google have posted a brand new App inventor, being open sourced this will no doubt make some developers smile with a new opportunities.
Although still in early development this new App is starting to look promising, it is an early code and only so far has little supporting text. Still not completely open source users have not yet been given the capability to contribute their own code. MIT and Google have promised updates are on the way. A new Google group has started online for App developers to aid each other.
This new step is helping developers use the App inventor and its logo for credibility; we are still waiting for MIT to confirm when a new version will be released.
App investor was originally designed for Google to help make App development easier; this is in-line with Google’s attempts to stay ahead of the game in the App development world, although official support on the new software has been shut down. This decision by many developers is seen as a step back once again by Google not backing up their own development experience.
