The forums have lit up with us geeky bods talking about the impact Google+ will have on the quality of the Google search results in the UK, with a highly manipulative system like Google+ effecting the serps it won’t take long for black hat SEO companies to start manipulating the results.
The move is designed to help Google get a higher share of the social media world but this seems to be a very underhand technique for something that should be a natural process, it seems a little desperate for Google to need SEO companies to help them increase their social media user base.
Whist again giving Google a higher control of natural search results it goes even further than personalised search which was aimed at begin a user friendly update. It’s a bit like the Eurovision song contest; friends will help friends get to the top of the poles (nothing against the eastern block).
Of course this will be another case of Google’s search results dropping in quality which has been on a bit of a decline over the past two years.
Whilst Google make these changes, search engine marketers will have to follow and get their clients into using Google+ to aid their rankings.
